A Romantic Marquee Wedding Filled with English Country Garden Inspired Florals

Floral Artistry, Marquee Wedding, Weddings

Set to the backdrop of E’s family home, we had the joy of designing and providing florals for E & G’s beautiful marquee wedding. The style was the epitome of laid-back luxury, and the day combined English charm, with romantic, rambling garden-inspired florals, all set to a palette of pretty spring pastels.

Celebrations started with a ceremony in the most picturesque of churches, followed by a beautiful marquee reception in the grounds of E’s family home. The day was a true celebration of timeless elegance, with soft pastels, patterned linens, and organic floral displays, all perfectly capturing the couple’s vision for an elegant countryside celebration.

The Church Ceremony

E & G’s day started with their church ceremony. Guests were welcomed into the stunning historic church, where we had filled the aisle with rambling floral meadows to create a truly organic and eye-catching look. Each pew end was decorated with a mass of seasonal foliage and bursts of abundant florals, including soft blush roses, pale blue delphiniums, frilly foxgloves, and dancing scabiosa, creating a fragrant, meadow-like feel that perfectly complemented the character of the surrounding stone walls.

The floral arrangements were all created in our signature rambling, garden-inspired style, and kept loose and organic, enhancing the natural beauty of the space without overpowering it, an ideal balance between romantic refinement and natural abundance.

Alongside the meadow arrangements, we filled oversized urns with abundant greenery and pretty summer florals, to frame the entrance to the church and couple during the ceremony.

The Marquee Reception

Held at E’s family home, the reception took place in a beautiful T shaped marquee supplied by Highfield Marquees.

To set the tone for the celebration, and instantly immerse guests into the event, we created an eye-catching entrance archway, filled with florals in tones of blush, cream, lilac, and soft blue that greeted guests as they arrived at the marquee reception. Blousy roses, hydrangea, and peonies, were complemented with trailing delphinium, larkspur and foxgloves that added texture and movement to the design.

Inside the structure, a striking hanging floral installation became the centrepiece of the marquee. Overflowing with garden roses, delphiniums, hydrangeas, stocks, and trailing foliage, it brought the outside in, filling the space with texture and scent. The floral and foliage hoop floated above the round bar, creating an instant feature that carefully blended the lines between the structure and gardens beyond.

Tablescape Design

E & G opted for our design service, as well as floristry, and we had so much fun working with them to design their tablescape.

One of the first items we selected that helped to shape the design was a beautiful, patterned linen tablecloth, supplied by the Table Alchemy. The soft blue and white floral design instantly added personality and charm to the setting. Textured white lipped plates were stacked, and paired with soft white linen napkins, which added a beautiful contrast to the tablecloths.

We paired elegant glassware and Old English Cutlery, from The Banqueting Hire for a laid back, yet luxurious feel.

With over 200 guests, the layout of tables mixed both round and long tables, helping to create a visually striking setting. The round guest tables were adorned with large bowl arrangements and beautiful taper candles in Old Rose from Ester and Eric. We also lined the long tables with delicate bud vases, pillar candles in vases, and tea lights, for a beautifully varied look, filled with texture and interest.

Meadow arrangements from the ceremony were carefully repurposed in front of the long top table and ends of the long rows.

In place of favours, E and G opted for bottles of sloe gin, lovingly made by a family member for each table. A thoughtful touch that added personality to the day.

The Colour Palette & Flowers

The palette was a beautiful mix of summer pastels, including a dreamy combination of blush and soft pinks, ivory and white, pale blue and soft lilacs. This combination created a gentle, airy aesthetic that felt timeless yet refined, perfect for a summer wedding and E & G’s laid-back yet luxurious feel.

For the floral design, we wanted to create an English Garden inspired scheme, and incorporated beautiful blousy blooms such as roses, peonies, and hydrangeas, alongside more delicate varieties such as scabiosa, sweet peas, ami and orlaya. The couple also loved the look of trailing florals, and so throughout the installations we incorporated linear varieties such as delphiniums, stocks, snap dragons, campanula and fox gloves, to not only add texture and movement, but create the beautiful rambling look they were so fond of.

Every element of the floral design was created to feel natural, romantic, and effortless, while remaining sympathetic to the setting. By combining abundant seasonal blooms with organic trailing greenery, we brought a fresh, garden-inspired atmosphere to the day.

We adore working on marquee weddings, they provide so many opportunities to add personality through florals and design. A Few Kind Words from E

“Brilliant experience working with Millie at Studio Artemis. They designed and installed our wedding florals in June this year, and the flowers were show stopping. We absolutely loved them and had so many comments from guests about how beautiful they were. Studio Artemis was professional, knowledgeable and very easy to work with throughout. Would recommend very highly!”

Words cannot express how AMAZING Millie is. Every aspect of each event was executed to perfection. The styling was everything I had envisioned and dreamed of and more. We could not have pulled off the wedding of our dreams without Millie. An absolute star. Thanks just doesn’t seem enough for everything that she did.

"Every aspect of each event was executed to perfection"

Amanda & Ben

It was a truly spectacular Mandap set-up for the morning - stunning is an understatement. For the evening, the candles and the florals were perfect, the colours worked so well, and the florals were so full. Throughout the process, you've been so responsive, you have organised your set-up and breakdown time well, you stayed nearby to make sure everything went well, and your calm and kind nature is something that we will never forget

"We gave you our brief and what we were expecting was not what you pulled off - it was WAY better.

Arpitha & Geetesh

Being a designer myself, I had a really clear vision on what I wanted our wedding to look like. It’s safe to say that I was right to completely trust Millie to bring that to life. Her attention to detail, her continuous checking in, and her care, talent and passion was really what made everything possible.
Thank you so much, you really made our day unforgettable

"I’m so happy I found Studio Artemis, our day couldn’t have been more perfect."
